Dr Axel ,is a great listener and a kind and thoughtful doctor ,after an initial consultation ,he asked me to return to have an ultrasound, which they have in house at the Ampthill Practice rather than wait for an appointment at UCH, I believe this equipment is a great addition to the surgery,so should be thoroughly NHS funded to all clinics , as it makes diagnoses much quicker. Dr Axel was very thorough ,and was able to assess my problems quickly and suggest next steps. His manner is friendly and professional but more importantly he talks to you in a totally natural way which is a rare skill and still unknown to many GP'S !

He always takes time to listen to your problem and to explain what your options are.

There's a good reason why all of the reviews here are 5 stars: Axel is a very competent doctor, who reminds me of my GP in France. Listening and caring, he gives relevant and fair advice about how to progress on certain medical issues, and takes time to explain his decisions and his reasoning, treating you like a real patient (and not being condescending). I am only scheduling appointments with him, and do not intend to change - I would definitely recommend him, although not too much as he would end up being overbooked :)

I had a ultrasound scan of the thyroid gland. The examination was efficient and thorough. All my questions were answered.

After asking me about my symptoms, he carefully asked me to move my arm to different sides and asking me where do i have the pain more , then he refereed me to ultrasound where it they found problem with my shoulder, after getting the ultrasound result back, he then referred me to paediatric for further following up. The good thing about him he was listening to what I was saying , and he was trying to diagnose the problem and find the main cause of the pain . I don't want to undermined other doctors, but I was seen before for the same problem , they gave me a telephone Number to contact physiotherapist and book an appointment with them.
